We want to provide the opportunity for young people to take action in their community and brighten the lives of those needing a hand up. We have a range of programs and events to do this, including Buddies Days, Kids Camp, VOICE, Youth Mentoring, Immersions and the Townsville Tutoring Program.
Vinnies connects young people with the good works undertaken by the Society each year, and provides meaningful ways for them to learn, respond and engage with Vinnies and the wider community.
OUR RESOURCES
We have a range of resources available for students, schools and young volunteers about the St Vincent de Paul Society, social justice issues and the different ways that your community can get involved with our work.
Vinnies offer a variety of ways for school communities to participate in the Society’s good works:
Mini Vinnies is for primary school students, and participants are encouraged to focus on issues they feel passionately about
Secondary School Conferences are for secondary students, and are active bodies of students and teachers within a school community who work to make a difference to marginalised families and individuals in need of a hand up in life
To find out more about the range of initiatives we have for young people, how to get involved or if you would like to access a great range of resources, please head over to the Vinnies Youth QLD website.
St Vincent de Paul Society has over 160 years’ experience in Australia serving the community, underpinned by our commitment to offering a hand up to people in need of our support.
