NILS4Vehicles for people and families on low incomes to purchase a vehicle for essential services.
What is NILs for Vehicles?
The No Interest Loans for Vehicles (NILs4V) program is a part of the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS), a community credit program where one loan is repaid so another loan can be given out.
NILs4V are available from $2000 – $5000 for the purchase of an essential vehicle including cars, scooters, mobility scooters, motorcycles and boats.
Please note that due to the very high volume of Nils for Vehicles applications we have received, we are unfortunately unable to take any new applications at this time.
If you are eligible to apply for a No Interest Loan for Vehicle, (you have lived in your current or previous address for 3 or more months, are on a low income or Centrelink benefit, be willing to have a credit check and have no defaults over $500 on your credit report), and you would like to be added to the waitlist, please email us at loans@svdpqld.org.au and provide the following information:
- Full Name
- Mobile Number
- Address
- How you heard about the NILS program
- Confirm your rent, bills and other financial commitments are up-to-date or in a payment plan
- Confirm you have no defaults on your credit history, or they are less than $500 and be in a payment plan

Who can access these loans?
To be eligible to apply you must be:
- classified as low income or receive a Centrelink payment
- over the age 17
- a permanent resident (or have relevant bridging visa)
- willing to undergo a credit history check
- Defaults on your credit history need to be less than $500 and be in a payment plan before applying
- If you would like to check your own credit history at no cost before applying, you can order a free credit report online.

NILs4V currently operates across Queensland.
What are the benefits?
NILS4V is designed to help those who would have difficulty in obtaining finance for these critical items from traditional means. No Interest – Pay back only what you borrow. Payments to the no interest loan are via Centrepay or Direct Debit
